Entry Information

Saturday, 5 October: 10am – 11pm
Sunday, 6 October: 11am – 6pm

To receive an over 18 wristband, you will need to present government issued ID such as a driver’s license, proof of age card or passport on arrival at the gate. If you cannot provide an acceptable form of ID, you will be issued with an underage wristband.

No, pass-outs will not be permitted. Once you’re in, you’re in for the day so please plan ahead.

Sunscreen, hat and an empty water bottle are all recommended!

There will be EFTPOS / Card payment facilities at the bars and food vendors. No ATM will be available on site.

Prohibited Items

Outside drinks will not be permitted. You may bring along an empty water bottle to fill for free on site. Beers, spirits, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the bar.

Outside food will also not be permitted. There will be a range of great food vendors available on site, with vegetarian and vegan options to choose from.

Getting There and Parking

The Territory Bar-BQ Festival will take place at the Darwin Showgrounds on Shean Road, Winnellie NT.

The venue is accessible via public bus. Visit the NTG Journey Planner website to plan your journey.

Limited parking will be available on site.

Yes, there will be a dedicated pick up / drop off zone close to the entry gate. Check back here closer to the event date for more information.

Venue

Yes. The Foskey Pavilion will be open throughout the weekend and will be fully air-conditioned with seating available. There will be some shade accessible outside.

Yes, St John Ambulance will have a first aid tent and volunteers on site.

Any lost or found items can be reported to the St John Ambulance tent.

Accessibility

All attendees require a ticket to enter the event.

There is a dedicated drop off zone close to the entry gate.

The venue is all ground level however not all areas are paved. 

Program

Aussie rock legends Spiderbait will headline the festival on Saturday night, playing all their classics including Black Betty, Calypso, Buy Me a Pony and more.

The Foskey Pavilion will be transformed in to Darwin’s largest Oktoberfest hall. Participate in themed activities including stein holding, pretzel eating and milking the cow competitions. Don’t forget to come looking the part – there will also be prizes for the best dressed!

The pavilion is open to all ages but children must be accompanied by adults at all times.

The little ones will love our Kids Zone, fitted out with a jumping castle, face painting and roving entertainers. Entry for children 12 and under is free!

 

BBQ Competition

The Australian Barbecue Alliance is Australia’s foremost society promoting and developing traditional barbecue and smoking culture, sanctioning official ABA competitions nationwide. They set rules for national BBQ competitions as outlined on their website.

You must cook 5 proteins (Chicken, Pork Ribs, Lamb, Beef and Barramundi) within the guidelines of the competition for the judges to taste on the day. The rules for a sanctioned BBQ comp can be found on the ABA website.

The ABA has strict judging methodology guidelines for the sanctioned comps. They can be found here.

No. If you are not already a part of a team, let us know in your EOI and we will place you with one.

Tickets

Tickets include your entry to the event, access to all the live music and entertainment AND a free reusable plastic cup thanks to One Mile Brewery (for the first 3800 people through the gate)!

You can purchase a ticket for either or both days with weekend passes available. There will be food stalls and bars where you can purchase food and drinks, and plenty of kids entertainment. Prizes will be raffled throughout the day!

VIP tickets include access to the VIP shaded area with furniture, access to your own bar and toilets, and prime viewing of the main stage. Those with VIP tickets can also access the general admission areas.

The VIP area is strictly 18+.

Kids 12 years and under can enter the event for FREE! Bring the whole family!

If you’ve purchased a single day ticket, you can log in to your Eventbrite to download.

Weekend passes will be emailed out one week prior to the event.
